Nearly $5,000 of maple syrup stolen

ROCHESTER—State police are investigating a burglary that occurred at the Mom and Pop’s Farm Stand, owned by Tonya Sylvester, located at 3425 Brandon Mountain Road in the town of Rochester between 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14 and 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15.
After preliminary investigation, police reported that suspects entered through the barn and broke the locks of the inside doors where the maple syrup is stored. The suspects stole approximately $5,000 worth of syrup, a chain saw and jewelry. State police are actively looking for a match to the tire tracks that were found and documented at the scene inside the barn.
Tonya Sylvester’s home, next to Mom and Pop’s Farm Stand, had burned to the ground prior to the burglary.
