“The Nutcracker” waltzes into Rutland for two performances

Sunday, Dec. 18—RUTLAND—In its 42nd season, Albany Berkshire Ballet and dance students from area schools perform one of the world’s best-loved ballets, “The Nutcracker.” With Tchaikovsky’s soaring music, the annual favorite tells the story of a young girl, Clara, and the magical dream she has one Christmas eve. The performance is based on the timeless tale by German storyteller E.T.A. Hoffman. See the magical performance live on the Paramount Theatre stage on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Tickets are $29.50 – $39.50, available at paramountvt.org, by calling 802-775-0903, or at the Box Office, 30 Center Street, Rutland.
