Snow-covered roads cause multiple accidents

On Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, between 6:30 and 9:40 a.m., Vermont State Police at the Rutland Barracks responded to several calls regarding minor motor vehicle incidents involving motorists that had slid off the snow-covered roads due to driving too fast for the conditions. The majority of these calls occurred on the main arteries including routes 7, 4, 30, 133 and 22a in the towns of Killington, Sudbury, Poultney, Benson, Shrewsbury, Wallingford, and Pittsford.
No injuries were reported and all vehicles were either removed or pulled back onto the road by local tow services.
Motorists are encouraged to reduce their speed and drive with caution while operating on snowcovered roads.
