Peak Races hosts MTB6 Mountain Bike Race

Saturday, Sept. 13 — PITTSFIELD — This Saturday Peak Races will host the last race in the New England Endurance Series, MTB6. This is not a USA Cycling sanctioned event, so no licenses are needed.

The mountain bike course will wind through the Green Mountain Trails of Pittsfield, Vt. According the the course description at peak.com, riders should “expect climbing on beautiful switchback singletrack with equally rewarding descents over a 12 mile lap.” They are also told to “be prepared for a potential short water crossing (which is rideable in the right conditions).”

A single lap option is available for beginners, or a two laps for intermediates “for those not looking to ride for 6 hours!”

Green Mountain Trails have been hand-built and expand each year. They are described as having very little mud due to terrific drainage, amazing switchback singletrack, and fast banked descents. For more information visit www.gmtrails.org or peak.com.
