BROC announces new executive director

RUTLAND—The board of directors of BROC-Community Action in Southwestern Vermont announces it has selected Carol Flint as BROC’s new executive director.

Mary Jean Inglee, BROC’s board president, commented that “We are confident that Carol’s experience, knowledge, and integrity are a great match for the work, staff, and friends of BROC, and together we will continue to advance our mission in our local communities.”

Flint brings to BROC 20 years of experience with anti-poverty programming including the former Central Vermont Community Action Council, Inc. During her time there she helped to establish the Vermont Women’s Business Center and most recently implemented a new Community Kitchen Academy at Gable Place in Barre, in partnership with the Vermont Foodbank.
Flint said she is “pleased and honored to be selected… and excited to begin work at BROC,” adding that she looks forward to meeting community members, affirming existing partnerships and establishing new ones.

Since 1965 BROC-Community Action in Southwestern Vermont has served the needs of low to moderate income persons throughout Rutland and Bennington counties. Programs and services include an emergency food shelf, housing and homeless assistance, budget counseling, nutrition education, weatherization assistance, and economic and workforce development for job training and entrepreneurship.
