Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 8 p.m.—RUTLAND—The nationally touring production of “Fame—the Musical” makes a stop in Rutland at the Paramount Theatre on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 8 p.m.
After reaching some 60 million people in over 30 countries, “Fame—the Musical,” which is different from, but based on the hit movie and the Emmy Award-winning television series, is now touring the U.S.. The Academy Award winning song “Fame” is included in the show.
“Fame” returns in an all nexw presentation produced by the veteran team of James Murtha and William Weir and under the direction of Dom Ruggiero. The high octane show will have audiences dancing in their seats as they enjoy the exciting staging and the fast paced choreography.
The superb music and dance numbers tell their story and are entwined with their personal relationships as they strive to grow and develop their talent in show biz. Having survived the auditions and chosen from some 4,000 that applied, only 97 were admitted. The production follows their four year odyssey of triumphs and broken dreams right through graduation day, including a tragedy that they must all rise above as they go forward in cap and gown to sing the moving “Bring on Tomorrow.”
