Sunday, Sept. 4 at 11 a.m.—RUTLAND—Families and their furry friends will celebrate the lifelong contributions of canine caregivers to cancer patients at the American Cancer Society Bark For Life event on Sunday, Sept. 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Diamond Run Mall in Rutland. The celebration will include doggie games, costume contests, a local police K9 demo, music, food, and a one-mile walk. The event is will also host a basket raffle on site as well as a “field of dreams” 50/50 tennis ball toss. Participants that want to take part in the event are asked to donate $10 per person (dogs are free) but everyone is welcome to stop by for the K9 demo at 1 p.m. and to the basket raffle tent, drawing to be at 2:30 p.m.
The event is part of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Rutland County. Funds raised help the American Cancer Society save lives by funding groundbreaking research, supporting education efforts, and providing free information and critical services for cancer patients.
