Rochester celebrates summer with evening of music and dance at various locations

Saturday July 16 at 4:30 p.m. — ROCHESTER — Don’t miss this Rochester tradition of music, dance, community, and a great summer night’s entertainment for the whole family. The White River Players present SummerNight in Rochester on Saturday, July 16 from 4:30 to 10:30 p.m. See old favorites and discover new talented musicians in the White River valley. Bring the whole family for a fun-filled evening in beautiful Rochester village!

Music will be played at five locations in Rochester village: Pierce Hall, Rochester Library, Rochester Federated Church, Park House, and in Rochester’s park. One button gives access to all. Adult buttons are $12 in advance, $15 the day of the music. Kids’ buttons (age 17 and under) are $5 in advance, $8 the day of. Or, buy a $5 ticket to an individual performance (excluding headliner). Buttons are available at Sandy’s Books and Bakery in Rochester, at the Rochester Farmers’ Market (Friday, July 15, 3-6 p.m.), or at the event.

The event features artists Frost and Fire (contra dance!); Va et Vient; Maiden Vermont; Baba Yagas; Scott Forrest; Jubilate Bell Choir; Green Mountain Suzuki Institute musician;, Ladies of the SummerNight; and children’s events in the park, held rain or shine. The headliner is Bow Thayer, performing at 9 p.m. at Pierce Hall. Also enjoy an open exhibit of paintings by Celia Reisman and Peter Fried at Big Town Gallery. Food vendors will be on Rochester Park, or bring a picnic dinner.
