Tuesday night Storm damages Pico buildings

UPDATE: Based on the description of damages and weather data from the area, meteorologists suspect a straight line wind with gusts over 60 MPH hit Pico from the east, said Michael Joseph, public relations manager for Killington and Pico Resorts. But an official analysis has not yet been reported. Representatives from the national weather service were expect to arrive Wednesday afternoon to survey the scene at Pico. There was extensive roof damage, some broken windows and downed trees, but no one got hurt, Joseph said. No tree hit buildings or cars, either.

A fast moving storm Tuesday night hit Pico Mountain especially hard. Some say it was a tornado, but we have yet to verify that. The storm had been building but when the skies let loose they did so suddenly. Around 10 p.m. Tuesday night strong winds and torrential rains seemed to come out of no where. A Killington resident submitted this photo to The Mountain Times Wednesday morning following the storm.
