WEST RUTLAND — On June 9, after several months of investigation, members of the Vermont State Police Drug Task Force, FBI and Rutland County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at 66 Harrison Ave. in West Rutland. During the search of the residence, Demar Neal, age 30; Ashley Webster, age 24; and Corey Fitzgerald, age 26—all from West Rutland—were arrested for distribution of heroin, possession of heroin, possession of cocaine base and possession of a firearm. All subjects were transported to the Vermont State Police barracks in Rutland for processing, according to a June 20 news release from the state police.

The search warrant yielded approximately 56 grams of raw heroin including packaging; approximately 790 glassine (smooth and glossy paper that is air, water and grease resistant) bags of heroin; 77 grams of crack cocaine; and a firearm.

All three have already appeared in Federal Court in Burlington on June 10 and June 13 and are currently being detained pending trial. The charges are being prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office.
