OVGC announces Men’s Four-Ball Tournament results

LUDLOW – On Aug. 23 and 24, Okemo Valley Golf Club hosted its annual Men’s Four-Ball Tournament. Winning the first flight in stellar fashion was the tandem of Mark Kattalia and Roger Danyew who collected 27 ½ points over five nine-hole matches, followed by Jeff Williard and John Hunter with 24 points. Winning the second flight in down-to-the-wire excitement was John Smith and Steve Sarli who collected 26 points, followed by juggernaut legends Marty Nitka and Mark Gauthier with 25 points. Winning the third flight in dominant fashion was Rich Bondareff and Ed Whitman with 27 ½ points, followed by Art O’Hare and Herb Eddy with 23 ½ points. Rich Bondareff and Ed Whitman nipped Roger Danyew and Mark Kattalia in the two-hole shoot-out, as John Smith and Steve Sarli were eliminated on the first hole of the shoot-out. Closest to the pin winners for the weekend were Kip Horton on the 4th hole, Herb Eddy on the 6th hole, Charley Peterson on the 8th hole, Ed Richter on the 4th hole and Mike O’Neil on No.17.
