OVGC ladies’ league final results announced

LUDLOW – On Aug. 20, Okemo Valley Golf Club’s ladies’ league came to an exciting conclusion. It was a tight race throughout the season, but none were tighter than the race for first and second overall. Ludlow Insurance fired a smooth one-under-par 34 and won in a scorecard playoff against DJ’s Restaurant. Betsy McKeever, Sue Horsman, Kathy Grant and Sue Fino jumped into third overall with their first place finish this week. Tying for first this week was all the DJ’s Restaurant team needed to do to take first place overall. Martha Johnson, Jill Tofferi, Lee Ann Haskell and Leanne Koponen made it happen. Team Jeannette struggled in the final  scramble, shooting a 39, and finishing eighth for the night – good enough for the team of Alice Thayne, Pat Roelants, Janet Carini and Doris Eddy to finish second overall. Finishing in third for the night and firing a one-over-par 36 was Mr. Darcy’s, made up of Darlene Remy, Donna Tedford, Julie Bowyer and Anne Matulonis. This performance pushed them up from sixth to fourth place overall. The closest to the pin winners for the night were Alice Thayne on No. 4, Peg Margiotta on No. 6 and Amy Taylor on No.8.
