United Way of Rutland County to relocate to VAC building

RUTLAND–After 16 years in the Longfellow building at 6 Church Street, United Way of Rutland County will move its offices to Vermont Achievement Center at 88 Park Street, Rutland.

“We are extremely grateful to Rutland City Public Schools and Superintendent Mary Moran for their hospitality over the years,” said executive director Nanci Gordon. “When UWRC needed a home back in 2000, Mary was our board president and stepped up with the offer of the space we have been occupying. It was perfect for the needs of the time. It’s just not quite enough room for today’s staff.”

The board of directors of United Way of Rutland County remains committed to keeping overhead costs down in order to give out as much money as possible to address community health, education and financial stability needs. Vermont Achievement Center is welcoming UWRC to use five upstairs rooms rent-free, making it the perfect new home for UWRC at this time in its history. UWRC will be responsible for utility costs.

The American Red Cross is donating office furniture that had been used at their former Strongs Avenue office.

The UWRC staff will move to the new location on July 5. The office will be closed for business from July 5-8 to allow the staff to unpack and organize the new space. UWRC’s phone number will remain 802-773-7477.
