Showcasing Vermont’s dairy heritage, Billings Farm & Museum invites the public to its annual Cheese and Dairy Celebration being held over Memorial Day weekend.
May 28 and 29 — WOODSTOCK — Billings Farm & Museum, gateway to Vermont’s rural heritage, announces the 6th annual Cheese and Dairy Celebration on Saturday and Sunday, May 28 and 29, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Celebrate Vermont’s rich dairy heritage during this two-day event: meet New England cheesemakers, sample their delicious artisan cheeses and dairy products, and take part in engaging dairy education programs. Billings will also be debuting Woodstock Reserve Cheddar, the latest addition to their award-winning collection of artisan cheeses, made exclusively with 100 percent Billings Farm raw milk.
The Cheese and Dairy Celebration will showcase many of New England’s artisan cheesemakers, who will offer samples, discuss their products, and have cheese on hand for purchase. Take part in Judge Jerseys with the farm manager to improve your bovine knowledge, and participate in a dairy scavenger hunt, “name the calf” contest, Inside-Out Cow (have fun learning the body parts of a cow), and Cow Make-Over (learn what it takes to groom a cow in preparation for being judged in a show).They will also be offering fresh hand-cranked ice cream, dairy headbands, and moo masks.
