WOODSTOCK — Billings Farm & Museum will showcase Vermont’s quilting artistry in the upcoming A Vermont Quilt Sampler Exhibition, running from June 28 through Sept. 1. Quilters from across the state are invited to submit their work for consideration from March 3-30.

Now in its 39th year, the annual quilt exhibition will feature approximately 50 quilts, highlighting various techniques and styles—from utility quilts to modern designs. Each quilt, presented in the historic barn gallery, will accompany a label detailing its story and craftsmanship. Interpretive panels will further explore themes inspired by this year’s submissions, and visitors can take part in hands-on activities inspired by contemporary quilting.

“We loved that the 38th edition of the exhibition featured a diverse range of quilting styles and perspectives. It was a true sampler of Vermont’s quilting talent! Now, in its 39th year, we hope to welcome an even broader array of submissions and encourage new quilters to take part in this vibrant exhibition,” said Sherlock Terry, at Billings Farm & Museum.

Quilts will be selected by the Billings Farm & Museum curatorial team, with a focus on small to medium-sized pieces that tell a compelling story. Special consideration will be given to youth and first-time quilters, supporting the next generation in carrying forward this artistic tradition.

The exhibition will open with a reception on June 27, welcoming quilters and visitors to celebrate Vermont’s rich quilting heritage.
