Snake Mountain Bluegrass perform authentic and toe tapping bluegrass at Brandon Music

Saturday, Sept. 17 — BRANDON — Bluegrass is the ultimate good- time music, honoring tradition whilst encouraging innovation. So Brandon Music is delighted to welcome back Snake Mountain Bluegrass on Saturday Sept. 17 at 7:30 p.m.

Always a firm favorite with Brandon Music audiences, (they performed in Nov. 2021 to a full house), Snake Mountain’s “toe-tapping tunes combine the best of modern and traditional bluegrass” (Seven Days) with harmonies and songs that vary in tempo from hard driving breakdowns to softer, folk-type arrangements. The group is known for its vocal, instrumental, and original songwriting talents, plus a great sense of humor and onstage banter.

Founding members Gregg Humphrey (guitar and vocals) and Mike Connor (banjo and vocals) are joined by Earle Provin (mandolin and resophonic guitar), and their new bass player Glenn Goodwin.  Retired Middlebury College professor Humphrey and Middlebury former  construction company owner Connor, formed Snake Mountain Bluegrass about 30 years ago. At the time, they were both living near Snake Mountain and someone asked them what style of bluegrass they played. “Snake Mountain Bluegrass” was their immediate response and the name has been theirs ever since.

Concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Concert tickets are $25. A pre- concert dinner is available for $35.  Reservations are required for dinners and recommended for the show and can be made on-line .at brandon-music.net/. Venue is BYOB. Call 802-247 4295 or e-mail info@brandon-music.net for reservations or for more information.
