David Zuckerman secured the Democratic nomination for lieutenant governor on Tuesday.
“I am honored and humbled to have been chosen by so many of my fellow Vermonters to be the Democratic nominee,” Zuckerman said in a statement. “I would like to thank my competitors in this race. I enjoyed getting to know them better and appreciate that we were all able to treat each other with respect and dignity.”
Zuckerman, who previously served as lieutenant governor before his unsuccessful bid for governor, beat Kitty Toll, Patricia Preston and local Charlie Kimbell of Woodstock, who tested positive for Covid days before the election.
Zuckerman will face off against Joe Benning, a Republican, in November.
