Saturday, July 23 — STATEWIDE— A selected artist will be painting at each of five Vermont State Parks for the day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors will be able to join the artist to watch as they create an original piece of work depicting the locale, as well as ask questions. There will also be an official state park interpreter present to share and answer any questions about the parks and their history.
The locations and artists for Art in the Park will include:
- Smugglers’ Notch State Park – Liane Whittum
- Knight Point State Park – Fiona Cooper Fenwick
- Quechee State Park – Jessica Fligg
- Mt. Ascutney State Park – Lynn VanNatta
- Emerald Lake State Park – Ken Rush
Art in the Park is being held in conjunction with the exhibition Parks & Recreation, a collaborative show at Bryan Memorial Gallery (Jeffersonville) and Bennington Museum (Bennington), both now open to the public.
This event is a collaborative program between Bryan Memorial Gallery and Vermont Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation, and is generously supported by Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing.
The event itself is free but day use fees of the parks apply at: $4 for adults, $2 for children, age 3 and under are free.
