Blue Jay Way to rock Fair Haven

Thursday, July 14 — FAIR HAVEN — Fair Haven Concerts Committee welcomes back Blue Jay Way on Thursday, July 14 at 7 p.m. The Vermont-based rock & roll cover band has made several visits to our park playing to large and enthusiastic crowds.

The band began in 1974 when two Castleton State College freshmen got together to play. Original members Tim Brown of South Burlington on guitar and Dave Sabatino of West Rutland on bass started out as a duo playing at the Checkmate, and were soon joined by another West Rutland alum, Terry “Jaye” Jarrosak on drums. The band has now been together for six decades, and is joined by Brad Morgan on keyboards and Harry Drum on saxophone (both of Satin & Steel), as well as renown Rutland guitarist Rob Henrichen.

Members of Blue Jay Way include: Brad Morgan, Tim Brown, Dave Sabatino, Terry Jarrosak and Rob Henrichen. Joining them on sax this Thursday in Fair Haven will be Harry Drum.

“When you’ve been playing together as long as we have, you are just appreciative that people continue to support live music, and keep calling you back,’’ said Brown, the athletic director at Mt. Anthony UHS for 30 years before retiring in 2018. “We have a such a good time playing music together and getting a chance to hang out and mix with the crowd,’’ added Jaye, the longtime morning voice of WJJR radio in Rutland.

As always, hot dogs, soda, water and popcorn will be available for purchase. There will be door prizes during the intermission, and a 50/50 raffle.

The First Congregational Church at the north end of the park serves as the rain location.
