July 1-3 — STRATTON MOUNTAIN — Stratton Mountain’s annual Fourth of July weekend is a growing celebration of Green Mountain events and family-friendly activities from Friday, July 1 through Monday, July 4. Friday kicks off the star-spangled celebration with the start of Friday hours for both the bike park and scenic lift rides. From Friday, July 1, through the end of summer, the Stratton. Starting this weekend the bike park and gondola will be open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturday, July 2 is headlined by the evening show, Dark Star Orchestra, playing under the lights as part of the Mountain Music Series. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Saints and Liars take the stage at 6:15 p.m. as the opening act, then Dark Star Orchestra is ready to jam at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, July 3 is Stratton’s premiere event, Mountain Friends and Freedom, which celebrates the Fourth of July with family-friendly activities and live music. Kids can play on the harnessed rock-climbing wall, take part in sack races, three-legged races, and everyone’s favorite Fourth of July pie eating contest and other family activities.
The outdoor stage is set for live music by The Dave Matthews Tribute Band at 5:30 p.m. The DMTB is the only nationally touring tribute to the Dave Matthews Band. Stick around after the show as we send our July celebration high into the sky with fireworks at 9 p.m. free to all for viewing.
