Chef Emery Gray will lead three hands-on cooking experiences starting May 19.

Inspired by cultural traditions from around the world and highlighting recipes that home cooks might not venture to try, Chef Emery Gray will lead three hands-on cooking experiences. Couples will follow steps to prepare a multi-course menu as the Billings Farm’s farm-to-table manager shares her extensive knowledge of the cooking process and how to use the local, seasonal ingredients. Participants will learn how these dishes are connected to sustainable local food systems and culinary history.

On May 19, the Date Night Cooking Class will feature Asian cuisine. The class begins with the preparation and sampling of savory kimchi pancakes and a dipping sauce. Introducing fresh and unique flavors, the menu will include a spring rollsalad and sticky maple orange chicken, tofu or vegetable for the main entrée. Couples will dine on their delicious creations in the beautiful setting of Billings Farm. The evening will conclude with a delectable dessert.

There will be further opportunities throughout the year to hone skills, add recipes to the home repertoire, and master some favorite cuisines.

On Aug. 8, in the peak of growing season, the Date Night Cooking Class focuses on Mediterranean cuisine. Chef Emery Gray will highlight garden fresh ingredients local to our region, with bold and crisp flavors and light, healthy fair.

On Nov. 3, as the weather gets colder, the Date Night Cooking Class explores hearty Italian cuisine. The menu will feature comfort food made with traditional methods, simple recipes, quality ingredients, and a rich palate.

Space is limited to six couples aged 21+. Pricing is $170/couple, or $160/couple for Billings Farm members. Participants may BYOB. Registration is open at billingsfarm.org/datenightcooking.
