In celebration of all things Star Wars, fans of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in the Jedi Trails— an idea to get Star Wars fans outdoors on the trails to commemorate “May The Fourth” and explore.

“The Jedi Trails event is such a great opportunity for all ages to get outside with family and friends, connect with your community, and learn about the beautiful resources our area has to offer,” said Heather Brouillard, the regional prevention partnership coordinator of Rutland Regional Medical Center’s Rutland Health Foundation.

There are two trails and two days in Rutland County to participate in the free event.

Jedi Trails will be taking place on Saturday, April 30, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Poultney at River and Rail Trail near ReClaimed, and on Sunday, May 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Rutland at Pine Hill Park on the Lower Georgetti Trail.

Come Alive Outside is hosting Star Wars-themed trail events in Poultney and Rutland April 30-May 1. Fans are encouraged to dress up in Star Wars attire and find baby Yodas on the trails.

Fans are encouraged to dress up in their favorite Star Wars costumes as they search for baby yodas lost on the trails.

“One hundred baby Yodas are lost on the two trails, and it is up to the Jedis to find them,” said Arwen Turner, the executive director of Come Alive Outside.

If you find a baby Yoda, you get to keep it and take it home.

Four-year-old Katie Perkins from Proctor said she’s excited to find a baby Yoda. She, along with her mom, dad, and infant brother, will dress in costume, weather permitting.

Although too young to understand “Star Wars,” when asked if she liked the series, Katie said, “No, but mom and daddy do.”

If last year were an indication of its popularity, the Jedi Trails would bring people out this year for an out-of-this-world experience.

“We at Slate Valley strive to make the trails a positive place of outside adventuring for all ages! Last year’s Jedi Training Trails were a hit, bringing Star Wars fans out and people just walking by!” said Sarah Graham, a Slate Valley Trails board member.
