“Carmina Burana” is a scenic cantata that German composer Carl Orff composed in 1935-36. It is based on the 24 poems from the medieval collection of the same name. The selection of poems covers a wide range of topics, as familiar in the 13th century as they are today: the fickleness of fortune and wealth, the ephemeral nature of life, the joy of the return of spring, and perils (and pleasures!) of overindulgence.  For information, visit: castleton.edu/calendars/event/university-chorale-concert/2022-04-30/ or gracechurchvt.org.
