February-July — RUTLAND— Grace Congregational Church is excited to announce its spring/summer concert lineup. On Feb. 27 at 4 p.m. it welcomes vocalists Ryan Mangan and Olivia Boughton to sing music by Renaissance and Baroque composers accompanied by Andrew Donovan on guitar. On March 13 at 6 p.m. Grace Church will present its youth and young-adult musicians in a showcase of talents concert, Spark of Creation, which will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Rutland.
Grace Church will welcome back folk musicians John Kirk and Trish Miller, who will offer a concert of folk music on March 27 at 4 p.m. They will work in collaboration with Ryan Mangan, who will sing a selection of folk songs arranged by Benjamin Britten.
Grace Church is also excited to collaborate with Castleton University in a performance of Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana.” The exhilarating and dramatic work will be performed at Castleton University on April 30 at 7 p.m. and at Grace Church on May 1 at 7 p.m.
On May 15 the Grace Festival String Orchestra will perform Benjamin Britten’s wonderful “Serenade” for tenor, horn and strings with Ron Wold, French horn, and Ryan Mangan, tenor. The concert will also include the world premiere of “Three Burns Songs” by Alastair Stout.
On May 22 Grace Church will host the Vermont Symphony Orchestra Chorus for its spring performance of John Rutter’s “Gloria.” Finally, Grace Church and the Paramount Theater will present “Shrek! The Musical” on July 15, 16 and 17 at the Paramount Theatre.
