Where Christmas, fun & history meet!
WOODSTOCK — Experience the traditions of a late 19th-century Vermont Christmas with a visit to the Billings Farm & Museum this holiday season. Christmas at the Farm will be featured Dec. 4-5, 10-12, and daily Dec. 18 through Jan. 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. BF&M will be closed Christmas Day.
Festive holiday trees and decorations will fill the visitor center and historic barn. Visitors can learn about a Victorian Christmas, experience the authentically decorated parlor of the 1890 Farm Manager’s House, and dip candles. Be sure to vote for the best staff-made gingerbread house on display beginning Dec. 10. Don’t miss the to-scale 1890 Farm Manager’s House recreated in gingerbread in the visitor center lobby.
On the farm, meet Jersey cows, draft horses, chickens, sheep, and goats in the barns. Then, gather around the fire pits and warm up with hot chocolate, coffee and s’mores, available for purchase. Light adventure can be found on a snowshoe hike along the Ottauquechee River, weather permitting.
Christmas shopping is a delight in the museum gift shop where shoppers will find unique holiday gifts and Billings Farm cheese. Select items, including cheeses, are also available online at billingsfarm.org.
Santa is also coming to Billings Farm! Take a memorable family photo with Santa next to the historic sleigh and 10-foot Christmas tree in the historic barn. Santa will visit Billings Farm from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 12, 18 and 19.
