Saturday, Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m. — BRANDON — Brandon Music welcomes the return of singer-songwriter and guitarist Steve Hartmann with special guest and friend, bassist Drew Breder. Steve recently did a guest spot with Chelsea Berry at Brandon Music on Sept. 18. Steve had composed a new song for Chelsea and in her words, “It just blew me away”. Chelsea quickly contacted Steve and ever since they have been music soul-mates.
Steve Hartmann is originally from Warminster, Pennsylvania, and now resides in Colchester with his wife and young son. Born in Dalat, Vietnam, towards the end of the Vietnam War, Steve was adopted at the age of 5 months. He struggled to find a sense of belonging, until he found music at the age of 12. He’s a self taught guitar player and a classically trained pianist. He started the journey of finding his sound when he met his best friend and bassist, Drew Breder, at age 18. Using various vocal effects and looper pedals, his sound has grown to be readily identifiable as his own.
Having opened for major label acts like Bryan Adams, Train, and Dispatch to independent acts like Jeffrey Gaines, Chris Carrabba, and Reeve Carney, Hartmann’s dynamic vocal range, lyrically driven tunes, and captivating stage presence set him apart. Having spent several years touring as part of the group, Simon, Hartmann now performs solo and once he had settled in Vermont and appreciating the music scene in his new home state he went right to work, winning The Advance Music Singer-Songwriter Contest. Since then, Hartmann had a son, released his first solo studio album called “Waking Up the Echoes,” won Vermont’s Original Music Competition, books talent for 2 of New England’s largest festivals, and continues to grow his musical community through his love of playing and writing.
Concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Concert tickets are $25. A pre- concert dinner is available for $35.
