RUTLAND — As part of the Same Sun movie series at the Norma Patterson Drive-In, the Paramount Theatre continues its movie series with Halloween-themed shows throughout the month of October at the Vermont State Fairgrounds in Rutland.
Oct. 15 — Nightmare Before Christmas: Jack Skellington, the pumpkin king of Halloween Town, seeks a new thrill when he discovers Christmas Town and decides to put his own ghoulish spin on the newfound holiday.
Oct. 16 — Hocus Pocus: During a Halloween in Salem, Massachusetts, three witches are accidentally reincarnated as a young boy who tries to impress the girl of his dreams.
Oct. 22 — Sleepy Hollow: New York detective Ichabod Crane is sent to Sleepy Hollow to investigate a series of mysterious deaths in which the victims are found beheaded. But the locals believe the culprit to be none other than the ghost of the legendary Headless Horseman.
Oct. 23 — The Exorcist (1973): William Friedkin directs one of the most horrifying movies ever made. When a charming 12-year-old girl takes on the characteristics and voices of others, doctors say there is nothing they can do. As people begin to die, the girl’s mother realizes her daughter has been possessed by the devil–and that her daughter’s only possible hope lies with two priests and the ancient rite of demonic exorcism.
