Tuesday, Oct. 5 — PAWLET — The board of the Pawlet Public Library announces its fall fundraiser, Root for the Library Raffle, which runs now through Oct. 5 when the drawing will be held. Raffle items are valued at $100 and over, including a cruise on Lake St. Catherine, outdoor patio furniture, $100 gift certificates to local restaurants and retailers, and specialty food and products baskets. Colorado artist and part-time Pawlet resident Gary Burditt offers a stunning handmade cedar wall sculpture titled “Rainbow Trout” valued at $1,000.
Raffle tickets are $25 each or $100 for five. Participants can choose which raffle items they are interested in. “Several generous individuals and businesses donated super items for our Root for the Library Raffle,” said library board member Susan LaPorte. “Proceeds from the raffle will be used to purchase new books for adults and children, subscribe to digital resources like e-books and audio books, and to provide interlibrary loan, public wi-fi access, statewide circulation automation, and educational programs.”
Participants can browse the raffle item list at pawletpubliclibrary.wordpress.com/root-for-the-library-raffle and download tickets to mail in. They can also visit the library Tuesday through Saturday when the building is open to view items and purchase tickets. The library is located at 141 School St., in Pawlet.
