RUTLAND—Grace Congregational Church has a wonderful season of music coming up this fall, featuring guest soloists and choirs as well as the Grace Church Sanctuary Choir, the Grace Church Festival Brass and Festival Orchestra.
- Fall kick-off Sunday with Choir and Festival Brass, Sept. 12 at 10 a.m.
- Vocal recital: Olivia Boughton, soprano, and Alastair Stout, piano, give the first performance of a new song cycle by Alastair Stout. The concert also includes music by Elizabethan and Renaissance composers. Sept. 26 at 4 p.m.
- World communion Sunday — the Grace Church Sanctuary Choir celebrate musical cultures from around the world, Oct. 3 at 10 a.m.
- Jazz Sunday with the Onion River Jazz Band and Grace Church Sanctuary Choir, Oct. 24 at 10 a.m.
- Halloween-themed benefit concert in aid to the Red Cross, Oct. 31 at 4 p.m. A blood drive is scheduled for earlier in the day in the fellowship hall.
- All Saints Celebration of Life — the Grace Church Sanctuary Choir and Castle University Chorale perform the “Mass in G Major” by Franz Schubert to remember, mourn and celebrate the lives of those who have died this past year. Nov. 7 at 7 p.m.
- Folk Sunday with John Kirk, Trish Miller and the Grace Church Sanctuary Choir. Nov. 14 at 10 a.m.
- “Messiah” — the annual performance of G.F. Handel’s masterpiece, also including “Cantata 133, Ich freue mich in dir,” by J.S. Bach. Dec. 5 at 3:30 and 7 p.m.
- Lessons and Carols — all the Grace Church choirs offer a traditional service of lessons and carols for the Advent season. Dec. 19 at 10 a.m.
