Bradley Berryhill, MD recognized for teaching excellence

RUTLAND—Community Health’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Bradley Berryhill received the 2020 Family Medicine Teaching Award for the health network’s excellence in teaching medical students. The award, given through a joint sponsorship of the Vermont Academy of Family Physicians and the University of Vermont Dept. of Family Medicine, also recognized Community Health for its “commitment above and beyond the standard contributions to our teaching programs.”

”I am on the clinical faculty for the Dept. of Family Medicine and have been working as a preceptor for incoming physicians. This is rewarding work and I appreciate being recognized for my efforts with students,” Berryhill stated.

In a letter, Dr. Thomas C. Peterson, chair and professor at the UVM Dept. of Family Medicine, and members of Dept. of Family Medicine congratulated Dr. Berryhill and Community Health for their “exceptional teaching.” The award consists of a plaque on a permanent display at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont in Burlington.

“We deeply appreciate the energy and skill which you have generously brought to the teaching setting,” the department members said.

Bradley Berryhill, MD, MS, joined Community Health in 2004 as medical director and was named chief medical officer in 2019. A 1986 graduate of State University of New York Upstate, he completed his residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital Medical Center in Syracuse and received a master’s degree in health care policy and administration from Harvard University in 2006.
