Aug. 5 at 7 p.m.— FAIR HAVEN — The Fair Haven Concerts in the Park welcomes back Mellow Yellow to the stage. According to a recent news release from the band, the group “pays tribute to the 60s and 70s with truly authentic renditions of some of the genre’s greatest songs. With attention to detail, the members of Mellow Yellow do all they can to get inside the songs they perform. This attention to the essence of the music as well as dazzling arrangements and outrageous costumes results in not just a show, but a full-on, far-out experience of an era gone by. So c’mon down for a trip back in time! Those days may be over, but thanks to Mellow Yellow, the music, and the spirit, live on.”
The concert committee agreed. This group will take particiants back in time with the crowd finding themselves singing along to the songs of the 60s and 70s.
Members of the group are Dusty Love (Linda Bassick) on vocals, acoustic and electric guitars, flute, trombone; Brad DaddyO (David Cooper) on vocals, Mello-yellotron; Ellis Dee (Bill Mullins) on lead guitar, vocals; Apollonius Funk (Brad Sourdiffe) on bass; and Franco Sunshine (Frank Zammiello) on drums.
The concerts begin at 7 p.m. but attendees are encouraged to come early to select the best seats and enjoy the park.
Concert volunteers will once again be selling 50/50 tickets in the crowd. Hot dogs, chips, soda, popcorn, water and sodas are all available for purchase.
