The Mountain Operations group at Killington Resort works on staff development and building a group of next generation leaders over the last few years, and Friday, May 14 the group announced its latest promotions.
Tim Brosnan, mountain maintenance manager
Tim Brosnan, longtime employee of 16 years, has taken on the role as mountain maintenance manager. Brosnan began his Killington career as a lift operations team leader and since, has had the opportunity to work on a variety of unique projects including the rebuild of Killington’s ATV Poma lift and the construction of the Peak Walkway and The Stash Terrain Park. Over the years, he has shown his passion for work both on the job and within the community through his involvement in the Vermont Tramway Apprenticeship program. His new position expands his previous responsibilities managing lift mechanical and electrical maintenance to include the vehicle maintenance team. “We believe his special knack for problem solving is a great asset to the team,” the operations team stated. “Moving forward, the overall consolidation of our lift infrastructure, grooming and vehicle fleets, will bring a higher level of efficiency and service to our guests.”
Tait Germon, mountain operations manager
Tait Germon, employee since 1997 and former ski patrol director and terrain operations manager, has assumed the role as mountain operations manager, which expands his previous position to include the oversight of lift operations, ticket checking, base area transportation, parking and vehicle scanning operations.
Ian Smith, ski patrol director
Stepping up to fill the ski patrol director position is Ian Smith, formerly one of the ski patrol supervisors. Smith’s career at Killington Resort and Pico Mountain started in 2011. Smith has well-rounded experience across the resort and brings a personal passion to his new role. He is a National Ski Patrol (NSP) outdoor emergency care (OEC) Senior, national registry emergency medical technician (EMT), and has served as an OEC instructor and outdoor emergency transportation instructor.
Erin Martin, compensation analyst
Attracting and retaining employees who appreciate and thrive in the Killington/Pico culture is an ongoing mission for the company. Creating and maintaining a competitive compensation program is a key factor in reaching this goal. To that end, the resort has created a new position: compensation analyst. This role has been filled by Erin Martin who has spent the last six years playing a key role as executive coordinator in the Mountain Operations department. In her new role, Martin’s responsibilities include ongoing research on various jobs and their compensation as we strive to maintain a competitive edge in a changing landscape. Martin has years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll and program coordination in various fields. “We believe this new position is critical in placing passionate people in job opportunities to position us for a successful future,” the team stated.
Christine Bulgini, mountain operations executive coordinator
Christine Bulgini, previously part of the facilities maintenance team the last three years, will fill the role of mountain operations executive coordinator. In her time at Killington, Bulgini has demonstrated her passion for improving processes and implementing technology to boost efficiencies. With this expertise, she will be a strong asset as we move our fleet and lift infrastructure into a new maintenance system.
Oliver Hardy, rental operations manager
Oliver Hardy has been promoted to rental operations manager. Hardy will oversee all winter rentals for Killington/Pico and summer bike rentals and repair for Killington. As a four-season resort, having one individual manage all rentals no matter the season will improve the experience for guests. Hardy brings an abundance of expertise as a Green Mountain College Resort Management Program graduate who got his start in the ski industry at just 15 years old as a snowboard instructor.
Chris Condon, finance manager
Finally, Chris Condon will be promoted to finance manager. Condon, who has been a part of our team since 2018, has made a huge impact thanks to his financial acumen and keen ability to understand operations.
