Killington Music Festival celebrates 39 years

Now in its 39th season of presenting fine chamber music the Killington Music Festival (KMF) has fostered a healthy, safe and vibrant education and performance community of artists. KMF is offering two weeks of inspiring virtual master sessions providing opportunities for all music lovers to attend from around the world. The sessions are designed to invigorate, inspire and enhance the quality of music in each participant’s life, carefully crafted with the modern-day musician in mind. The world renowned musicians Glenn Dicterow and Emilio Colon will be conducting masterclasses. The master sessions will strengthen understanding and skills that are relevant, competitive and adaptable in the 21st Century. KMF master sessions are intended for everyone, from music lovers to students to professionals.

Killington Music Festival faculty will be performing throughout Rutland providing free concerts during the week of July 12. Violinist Daniel Andai, artistic director, has been hailed by the New York Times as an “exemplary leader” for leading members of the New York Philharmonic and Manhattan School of Music in Carnegie Hall. He is concertmaster of the Miami Symphony Orchestra and is currently dean of music at the New World School of the Arts. John Vaida, violin and viola, performs regularly as a soloist, recitalist, chamber musician and orchestral player. Mr. Vaida serves on the faculty of Mansfield University and is the director and co-founder of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Chamber Music Society. Greco-Albanian violinist Regi Papa has been hailed by Strad magazine as “an exciting young violinist with brilliant technique and an excellent sense of style”. He is one of the most sought-after violinists of the day. Bryan Hayslett, cello, teaches at the New World School of the Arts and serves as cellist of the contemporary performance group, Juxtatonal.
