First Wednesdays: U.S. immigration in historical perspective

Wednesday, April 7 at 7 p.m.—Virtual— It may seem that the current anxieties about immigration in the U.S. have never been more intense, but history suggests otherwise. Dartmouth professor Richard Wright examines the present-day contradictions of U.S. immigration policy and places them in historical perspective. First Wednesday is a Vermont Humanities program hosted by the Manchester Community Library and underwritten by Vermont Department of Libraries and the Institute of Museum and Library Sciences. This lecture will be held from 7-8 p.m.

Please note: due to the Covid-19 crisis, the 2020-2021 First Wednesdays talks will only be offered online, via Zoom. Advance registration is required for these events at mclvt.org.
