‘Moynihan’ streaming online, Jan. 7-10

WOODSTOCK— Billings Farm & Museum’s 11th annual Woodstock Vermont Film Series features “Moynihan,” a film about the seminal public intellectual and sociologist, policy specialist, ambassador and long serving Senator.

Daniel Patrick Moynihan was a moralist in a political world where morality — the urge to do good – is often overcome by the desire to do well. Over the years, Moynihan’s work has frequently been misinterpreted by political partisans. In “Moynihan,” Ta-Nehisi Coates and Henry Kissinger give insight into this “connoisseur of statistics” who served four presidents. The film offers a timely perspective on today’s debates over issues Moynihan began tackling over 50 years ago.

“Moynihan” is available for streaming Jan. 7-10. The Woodstock Vermont Film Series is produced by Billings Farm & Museum with generous support from local sponsors. Lead sponsors include the Woodstock Inn & Resort and the Ellaway Group.
