Turtle Fur announces scholarship for Vermont Adaptive athlete

As a company proud of its Vermont roots, Turtle Fur is excited to offer both financial and material support to Vermont Adaptive. Vermont Adaptive serves youth and adults of all abilities who have physical, cognitive, developmental, or emotional/behavioral disabilities, helping them gain self-confidence and independence through adaptive sports programs and activities in multiple locations throughout the state on a year-round basis. In 2019, Turtle Fur became the official headwear sponsor for Vermont Adaptive. Since then, they have expanded their partnership even more, most recently to include developing the Turtle Fur Scholarship for one Vermont Adaptive athlete.

This year’s recipient is avid biker and skier, 15-year-old Vishal (Vish) Lassarre. Vish enjoys riding the Burlington Bike Bath and skiing at Bolton Valley with Vermont Adaptive.

“We’re thrilled to be able to expand our partnership with Vermont Adaptive and welcome Vish into the Turtle Fur family. Knowing that Vish loves the same sports we do makes the sponsorship that much sweeter, as he already feels like a member of the team. It’s also an incredible opportunity to support Vermont Adaptive in making sure that anyone with a disability, including those in our Vermont communities, can participate in adaptive sports and programs, regardless of financial situations.” said Torie Grice, senior brand marketing manager.

Vermont Adaptive is a group of people who work hard to empower people of all abilities through sport. Turtle Fur jumps at any chance to work with them and help in their mission of making Vermont (and sports) more inclusive.
