Trinity Episcopal Church is taking steps towards connecting beyond the currently closed doors of the church to meet a basic need in the community. Members of the church are aiming to stretch this community’s potential in meeting the daily necessity of socks with the introduction of the “Socks for Souls” program. In an era where daily necessities are locked up, due to theft, meeting this daily necessity is clearly needed.
There are far too many adults and children who experience a need for socks to keep their feet warm or even comfortable for the everyday use many of us take for granted. Many people are limited in providing socks for themselves and/or their families. With cold weather on the horizon, this is a very real need Trinity Episcopal Church is taking seriously and welcomes the community to get involved.
The Socks for Souls program invites generous folks to donate new socks of all sizes, multipacks welcomed. Scheduled collection dates will be held on Saturdays, Nov. 21 and Dec. 5, between 1-3 p.m. by a drive-through drop-off in the parking lot at Trinity Episcopal Church, 85 West Street in Rutland. Masks are required to be worn at the drop-off site. The distribution of socks collected will be facilitated in partnership with BROC to reach those in need.
