Road construction report for the week of Nov. 2

Here is a list of road construction projects happening throughout central Vermont. Please remember to drive safely in all work zones. Lives depend on it.

I-89 Sharon – Bethel – A resurfacing project is wrapping up in both the Northbound and Southbound lanes between Exits 2 and 3. Daily lane closures and a speed reduction to 55 mph when lane closures are in effect. Bridge work in Sharon will require a mid-week lane closure in both the North and Southbound lanes.

I-91 Hartland – Motorists will see lane reductions Northbound and Southbound, with reduced speeds enforced in the work zone for bridge replacement operations.

Bethel – The bridge along VT 12 is open to traffic. Demolition of the old bridge and final paving of the approaches has been completed. Expect intermittent stoppages of traffic and minor delays.

Cavendish – Weathersfield – A roadway project along VT 131 continues. Motorists will encounter multiple areas of one-way alternating traffic. Minor delays should be expected.

Hartford – Crews will continue drainage work and begin preparations for roadway paving. Motorists can anticipate gravel surfaces along Sykes Mountain Ave. from Beswick Dr. to US 5. Traffic delays are expected on US 5 and Sykes Mountain Ave. at the end of the week.

Pittsford – Multiple activities for roadway reconstruction along US 7 this week. Motorists should proceed with caution as they navigate new traffic patterns and lane shifts throughout the project. Expect intermittent stoppages of traffic throughout the week, with minor delays. A speed reduction to 35 mph remains in effect.
