Nov. 6-8—WOODSTOCK— Billings Farm & Museum’s 11th annual Woodstock Vermont Film Series enters a new era with on-demand streaming of its 15 films. The film series begins November 6-8 with the award-winning documentary, “The Pollinators.”
This visually stunning documentary, directed by Peter Nelson, is a cinematic journey across the country following migratory beekeepers and their truckloads of honeybees as they pollinate what become the nuts, fruits and vegetables we all eat. The filmmakers talk to farmers, scientists, chefs, economists and academics along the way to give a broad perspective about the threats to honeybees and what it means to our food security. The film was recently featured on National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered” and The New York Times called it “magnificent.”
“The Pollinators” is only available for streaming in Vermont and New Hampshire. Included with the ticket purchase is a recorded interview with Peter Nelson by award-winning filmmaker Jay Craven, who curates and directs the Woodstock Vermont Film Series.
The Woodstock Vermont Film Series is produced by Billings Farm & Museum with generous support from local sponsors. Lead sponsors include the Woodstock Inn & Resort and the Ellaway Group.
