OVRCC secures marketing grant

The Okemo Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce (OVRCC) was recently awarded a Restart VT regional marketing and stimulus grant from the VT Dept. of Tourism. In collaborating with joint applications from its community partners around the region including Chester, Londonderry, Ludlow and Weston, these individual grants were maximized from just $10,000 each to $40,000 benefitting the entire region.

The Agency of Commerce and Community Development (ACCD) is awarding Restart Vermont marketing and stimulus grants worth a total of $500,000 to Vermont communities and organizations from its federal coronavirus relief funds for efforts and activities related to economic recovery, consumer stimulus, marketing or tourism projects to support businesses that have suffered economic harm due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

They are intended to enable local, regional, or statewide organizations to implement campaigns and initiatives that will increase consumer spending, support local businesses, and advance community recovery efforts.

Plans for Okemo Valley include: regional and local videos for visitors, expanded Okemo Valley magazine distribution, a partnership with Yankee magazine, a new regional graphical “green attractions” map, a second homeowner postcard mailing, a new Valley Specials promotion and social media tourism campaigns.
