Friday, Sept. 25 at 12 p.m.—RUTLAND—350 Rutland County plans Vote For The Earth, an event on Friday, Sept. 25 from 12-1 p.m. This event is part of the 2020 Global Climate Action Day, and worldwide partners include: The Mother Earth Project, Global Citizen, and Climate Week NYC. The local 350 Rutland County event takes place on the lawn of the Unitarian Universalist Church at 117 West St. in Rutland.
It will be focusing on voting for candidates with strong environmental platforms. They are joined by Rights and Democracy, who will assist in new voter registration. They are running a slide show loop “Our World Depends on Us,”and in keeping with social justice goals, will have a representative from Change the Rutland Mascot.
This is a non-violent, non- confrontational event, and will adhere to current distancing guidelines.
