Norman Williams Public Library announces limited reopening

WOODSTOCK—The Norman Williams Public Library began welcoming patrons through its doors starting Monday, Aug. 10 thanks to Vermont’s success in controlling the Covid-19 virus in communities statewide. However, the reopening will take place on a strictly limited basis and with operating restrictions that will ensure the safety of both visitors and staff.

The library’s hours will be from noon to 6 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.  The first hour will be reserved for patrons age 55 or older and for those with compromised immune systems. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the library will be closed, with the exception that curbside pickup services will continue for all patrons who are not yet comfortable entering the building.

“We are excited to reopen and to begin offering all the resources we can at this time. As Covid-19 continues to recede from our community, we’ll plan on phasing in greater levels of service to match, but we’re also prepared to rein in some or all services should circumstances demand,” said Clare McFarland, NWPL library director. “We all thank our patrons for their understanding and patience as we work through this ‘new normal,’ balancing everyone’s safety with the highest levels of service possible.”
