Reading woman dies in crash

SHREWSBURY—On June 24 at 10:32 a.m. troopers from the Vermont state police responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash in the area of Route 103 south of Spring Lake Road in Shrewsbury.

Preliminary investigation indicated that driver Randal Adams, 60, of Cavendish and passenger Katrina Centariczki, 74, of Reading were traveling northbound when Adams’ 2017 Dodge Caravan crossed the dashed yellow centerline and entered the southbound travel lane where it crashed head on into an Explorer operated by Austin Turco, 20, of Mount Holly.

Centariczki was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Adams was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Turco was transported to UVM Medical Center with serious bodily injuries.

All were reportedly wearing their seat belts according to the police report.

Both vehicles sustained heavy front-end damage and were towed from the scene.

This crash is under investigation, anyone with information regarding this crash should contact the Vermont State Police, Rutland Barracks at (802) 773-9101.
