Michael Coppinger announced his resignation from the Killington Pico Area Association (KPAA), Tuesday, June 16, after receiving a job offer for a general manager position in the Killington area. Specifics of the new position have not yet been made public.
“We are happy for Mike and his family for this growth opportunity and we hope that you will join us in being happy for him and congratulating him on his new endeavors,” said KPAA board president Hannah Abrams.
The job opening is now posted on the KPAA website killingtonpico.org and review of resumes and interviews will begin as quickly as possible. Coppinger gave the board about four weeks’ notice, the board said, and will hopefully be able to help with the transition.
The position is listed as full time with a salary of $50,000 plus commission opportunities. The main duties include managing the staff and a budget, increasing membership and sponsorship, planning two two signature fundraising events (the Killington Wine Festival and the Vermont Holiday Festival) and running the welcome center.
“A successful director will have a strong sales background along with financial and budgeting skills… The director is highly visible in the community and must always act with the highest moral and ethical standards,” the job description reads.
