RUTLAND – Rutland Economic Development Corporation (REDC) officially welcomed Elicia Mailhiot to fill the role of communications specialist, May 1.
Mailhiot comes to REDC from Castleton University, having served as the communications coordinator there since 2018. While there, she helped execute key advancement functions, serving as the lead writer on various marketing and communications projects, helping to develop a comprehensive integrated marketing plan, and writing and disseminating stories to local, statewide, and national media outlets to garner positive news coverage for the University.
At REDC, Mailhiot will help drive the organization’s outreach activities, including regular updates to our members and the community through the REDC website, newsletter, social media, and more. She joins Executive Director Tyler Richardson and Assistant Director Kim Rupe.
“The energy and expertise that Elicia brings to REDC will prove to be invaluable as we continue to pursue our vision of making the Rutland region the most collaborative, innovative, and friendly place in Vermont to live, work, play, and grow a business,” Richardson said. “She has a passion for supporting the growth of Rutland County, and we’re excited to bring that passion to the work that we do at REDC.”
A graduate of Castleton University, Mailhiot holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication, concentrated in Journalism, and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Castleton. She serves on the board of directors for Rutland Young Professionals and chairs the organization’s marketing committee. She also serves on the membership for Spring Lake Ranch Therapeutic Community. Mailhiot was named a 2019 Rising Star by Vermont Business Magazine and was the recipient of Castleton’s Outstanding Young Alumni Award in 2018.
