Now you can have an alcoholic beverage with your takeout meal.
Gov. Phil Scott signed an executive order Thursday, March 19, that allows restaurants to provide “to-go” orders of cocktails, beer and wine. Restaurants can also deliver those drinks.
The order also allows licensed retail stores to deliver beer, wine and liquor (including cocktails). The directive takes effect immediately and will continue through April 15, at which point the governor and state officials will “assess the emergency and determine whether to amend or extend this Directive.”
The order does limit offering by licencing type, however: establishments with first-class
liquor licenses can do takeout, curbside delivery, and beverage delivery.
Second-class licensees can allow for delivery and curbside pickup of unopened alcohol.
