Pico Mountain is scheduled to kick off its 2018-19 winter season at 9 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 14. The sixth annual Opening Weekend Food Raiser will take place Dec. 14-16, 2018, offering discounted lift tickets in exchange for food donations for low-income Vermonters.
The Food Raiser is a partnership with Pico Mountain and local nonprofit organization BROC Community Action, which feeds 600 families each month through the BROC Community Food Shelf. Discounted single-day lift tickets will be available Friday through Sunday at the Pico Sales Center for $39 (regularly $81) for all ages with a donation of three non-perishable food items.
“BROC Community Action is dedicated to improving the lives of Vermonters in our community, and we at Pico Mountain are proud to support their efforts and grow awareness of food insecurity in southern and central Vermont ahead of the winter holidays,” says Rich McCoy, director of operations at Pico Mountain. “Every contribution helps feed a neighbor in need.”
Additional ways to save on lift tickets include My Pico 3 Packs, a 3-ticket bundle, for use throughout the 2018-19 season or to share with friends and family on the same day. While they are valid all season long, My Pico 3 Packs are only available for purchase through December 20, 2018. Skiers and snowboarders can choose from 3-packs valid any day excluding peak days ($125) or 3-packs valid any day ($135).
Skiers and snowboarders can also save with the Express Card which retails for $99 and offers discounted lift ticket rates at both Killington Resort and Pico Mountain for the entire 2018-19 season. All lift tickets must be loaded onto a reloadable ONE PASS, our RFID card, and can be purchased for $5 each at any ticket window. The ONE PASS is not transferable. Guests may also make a cash donation in lieu of the three non-perishable food items. The discounted tickets are only valid December 8 or 9 and cannot be use for future dates.
Pico Mountain lift hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. during weekends and on peak days. The full 2018-19 Pico Mountain operating schedule can be found at picomountain.com.
