WEST WOODSTOCK—The neighborhood is about to get a new restaurant.
Sleep Woodstock, LLC hotel owner Patrick Fultz bought the former Woodbridge Coffeehouse and Cafe building next door. Fultz plans to reopen the restaurant and call it Eat Woodstock.
Eat Woodstock will be open in mid-May. It’s going to feature simple breakfast and lunch food “with a twist,” Fultz said.
The menu includes French toast and pancakes for breakfast and sandwiches for lunch, including a “brunch burger”—a hamburger with bacon, cheddar, fried egg and maple aioli.
Fultz named Brandon Sharkey, the former sous chef of Molly’s in Hanover, the new head chef.
“He was highly recommended,” Fultz said.
This will be Sharkey’s first time leading a restaurant.
Fultz recently purchased the restaurant from Peter Koopman, who bought it out of foreclosure as an investment property in 2013.
Koopman lives in Tennessee and got to know Fultz by staying at Sleep Woodstock when he came north to work on the restaurant building.
“He’s got a nice little hotel there and he’s put a lot of effort into it. I felt like he could do a good job of opening the restaurant again,” Koopman said.
Fultz, who has 35 years of experience working in ad agencies in New York City, bought Sleep Woodstock about five years ago with co-owner Leslie Browne.
