LUDLOW—Voters in two of the school districts that comprise the Two Rivers Supervisory Union will soon be asked to approve budgets for the upcoming fiscal year, which begins July 1.
On May 8, voters in Ludlow and Mount Holly will be asked to support $7,210,463 to fund the elementary schools. They will also be asked for $133,000 to replace the gym floor in the Ludlow Elementary School. Voting takes place in the Mount Holly town office and the Ludlow Town Hall. Polls will close at 7 p.m.
Voters in the Green Mountain Unified School District (Andover, Baltimore, Cavendish and Chester) rejected the initial budget of $12.5 million back in March, with several voters saying the proposal wasn’t transparent enough. In Cavendish, a number of residents objected to a plan to replace the school’s principal with a dean of students.
The new budget is still a little more than $12.5 million, and anyone wishing to know more should attend the informational meeting in Green Mountain Union High School’s auditorium at 7 p.m. on May 16.
The vote takes place on May 22. In Andover, polls open at 8 a.m. in the town hall. At 9 a.m., polls open in Chester’s town hall, while Baltimore and Cavendish will start voting at 10 a.m. in the Baltimore town hall and the Cavendish Elementary School, respectively. Polls close at 7 p.m.
