May 27-28—WEST RUTLAND—The Carving Studio and Sculpture Center is celebrating 30 years this year, and continues to offer quality workshop. May 27-28, participants in Letter Carving for Beginner-Intermediate will be introduced to the ancient Roman techniques of v-cut letter forms using hand chisels and mallets. Instructor Kerry O. Furlani will demonstrate drawing, composition, and spacing of letter forms and translation into an inscription on a tablet of Vermont slate in this hands-on workshop.
